About
Mr. Bhavesh Patel has completed a B.E. (Computer Science) from HNGU, Gujarat; a Master of Science (Cyber Security) from BAOU; a BLIS from IGNOU; and an MBA (Operation Research) from IGNOU. He has been working at IIM Ahmedabad as a professional assistant (IT) since October 2013.
Mr. Bhavesh Patel started his career from IndiaNIC Info Tech Pvt. Ltd in 2007 as Sr. Web Developer. Before joining IIM Ahmedabad, he was working with the INFLIBNET Centre as a Project Officer (CS).
He is involved in the technical activities related to open-source software and library servers. Presently he is involved in website development, mobile application development, and other open-source software related to library and information centers.
He was the recipient of the Best Presenter Award at the 3rd International Conference on the Changing Landscape of Science & Technology Libraries (CLSTL 2025), hosted by IIT Gandhinagar in September 2025.
He was awarded Outstanding Performance at IIMA for the years 2015-16, 2020-21, and 2023-24.
Areas of interest include developing websites with various open-source software, such as PHP and WordPress, as well as library automation software like Koha, DSpace, SubjectPlus, and CORAL. Additionally, He is also interested in AI integration with library reference services, including RAG-based chatbots and creating website using different Agentic Tools.
He believes "learning is a never-ending process."
